This exhibition tells the story of local service personal through images, objects, and reflections from family members. The exhibition also looks at the social change during this time and the opposition to war at home. This turbulent war had a profound impact on the Goulburn region and Australia as a whole.
A wonderful exhibition of never before displayed drawings and photographs from the personal collection of one of Australia’s most renowned and prolific contemporary artists.
Not much more than twenty years after the close of WW1 Australians found themselves once again at war. A generation who lost their loved ones - or saw them return forever changed by their experience - were now themselves entering into battle.
Objects of National Significance: When war trophies came to Goulburn is the inaugural exhibition for our new state of the art museum building which opened in June 2020.
