Hermann Göring Division (H.G. Division), 1944
An elite German Luftwaffe armoured and infantry formation of the Second World War. In 1944 the division fought Allied forces in Italy before being transferred to the Eastern Front against advancing Soviet armies. Comprising tanks, mechanised infantry, artillery, and support units, it was one of Germany's most powerful military formations, although it also became associated with war crimes committed against civilians during the conflict.
2. Front Line Infantrymen.
A front-line infantryman of the Hermann Göring Division, an elite German military formation of the Second World War. These soldiers served at the forefront of combat operations, participating in attacks, defensive actions, and patrols while supporting armoured units. In 1944 members of the division fought in Italy before being transferred to the Eastern Front, where they took part in some of the war's most intense battles.
3. 3rd Fallschirmjager Division 1944.
The 3rd Fallschirmjäger Division was a German airborne infantry formation of the Luftwaffe during the Second World War. Formed in France in late 1943 and early 1944, it was composed largely of young volunteers and trained paratroopers. Although originally intended for airborne operations, the division fought primarily as elite infantry. It entered combat following the Allied landings in Normandy in June 1944, where it earned a reputation as a determined and effective fighting force. The division suffered heavy losses during the Normandy campaign and the Falaise Pocket before being rebuilt and later taking part in operations in the Netherlands and the Ardennes Offensive.
4. Feldgendarmerie.
A member of the German military police serving with the Wehrmacht during the Second World War. Feldgendarmerie personnel directed military traffic, enforced discipline, guarded prisoners, and controlled movement behind the front lines. Their distinctive metal gorget identified their authority and made them a familiar presence throughout German military operations.
